Thief fails miserably trying to steal an £8000 bike

This thief didn't think things through when he attempted to steal an £8,000 bike from a shop in Cambridge.
When he tried to make a swift getaway on the Giant Defy SL racing bike, he soon discovered that staff in the shop had removed its pedals.

Police were called to the scene at 3.50pm, and have issued a witness appeal based on footage captured from the store's internal CCTV system.
